  1. Full Explanation: The Seven Days of Creation

According to the Bible, in the book of Genesis chapter 1, God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day. The process of creation shows order, purpose, and design.

The Days of Creation:

  • Day 1: God created light. He separated day from night.
  • Day 2: God created the sky and separated the waters above from the waters below.
  • Day 3: God created land, seas, and plants that grow on the land.
  • Day 4: God created the sun to rule the day, the moon to rule the night, and the stars.
  • Day 5: God created birds to fly in the sky and fish to live in the water.
  • Day 6: God created land animals and then man and woman in His image to care for all creation.
  • Day 7: God rested, not because He was tired, but to show the importance of rest and worship.

  1. Order and Significance of the Creation Story
  • The story teaches that God is a God of order, not confusion. Each day had a purpose and built upon the last.
  • Humans were created last, showing they are the most important part of God’s creation.
  • Human beings are given the role of caretakers, meaning they are responsible for protecting and managing the earth and everything in it.
  • The seventh day of rest teaches that rest and worship are important parts of life.

  1. Key Lessons from the Genesis Creation Account
  • God is powerful – He created everything from nothing by just speaking.
  • Humans are special – Created in God’s image and given authority over other creatures.
  • Rest and worship are important – God rested on the seventh day as a model for humans.
  • Nature should be respected – As caretakers, humans must protect the environment.
  • Work has value – God worked for six days and called it good; this shows the importance of work.

  1. Practical Activity

Group Drawing Task:

  • Divide learners into seven small groups.
  • Each group is assigned one day of creation.
  • Each group draws what was created on that day on a piece of chart paper or in their exercise books.
  • After completing the drawings, each group presents their work and explains what happened on their assigned day.

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Learners read Genesis Chapter 1:1–31 and Chapter 2:1–3, either silently, in pairs, or as a class reading.
  • In small groups or pairs, learners explain each day of creation in their own words.
  • Learners complete a matching activity, matching each day to what God created.
  • Learners write a short paragraph on what it means to be created in God’s image.
  • Class discussion on how this story teaches responsibility for caring for nature and other people.

  1. Assessment Checks

The teacher may use these oral or written questions to assess understanding:

  1. What did God create on the third day?
    (Answer: Land, sea, and plants)
  2. What happened on the seventh day? Why is it important?
(Answer: God rested. It teaches the importance of rest and worship.)
  3. Who was created last, and why is that important?
(Answer: Humans; it shows they are special and given responsibility over creation.)
  4. How many days did it take God to create the world?
(Answer: Six days; He rested on the seventh.)
  5. What does the creation story teach us about God?
(Answer: God is powerful, wise, and purposeful.)

  1. Notes (Expanded and Detailed)
  • The Genesis creation account is found in the first book of the Bible.
  • It explains the origin of the world and everything in it from a Christian point of view.
  • The story is divided into seven days, showing a structured and meaningful process.
  • Human beings are described as being created in God’s image, which means they are capable of love, creativity, responsibility, and moral decisions.
  • The command to "have dominion" over the earth means humans should care for, not abuse, nature.
  • God resting on the seventh day sets the pattern for the Sabbath, a day of rest and worship in Christianity.

C – Consolidation
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: The Bible says God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. Creation teaches power, order, and care.

Evaluation Method: Exit slip: Write one thing created on Day 4.
