Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “Who do you trust the most and why?” This leads into humility, faith, and trust.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes
Topic: Humility, Faith, and Trust

  1. Key Values and Their Meanings

Humility:

Humility means being modest and not thinking of yourself as better than others. A humble person listens, respects others, and does not boast.

  • Biblical Example: Jesus washed the feet of His disciples to show that even a leader should serve others.
  • Qur’anic/Islamic Example: Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) showed humility by being kind to the poor, sharing food, and helping others without pride.

Faith:

Faith is the strong belief in God even when you cannot see Him. It means trusting in God’s promises and obeying Him.

  • Biblical Example: Abraham believed God would give him many descendants even when he had no children.
  • Qur’anic Example: Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) trusted Allah fully and obeyed Him, even in difficult situations.

Trust:

Trust means relying on someone or on God with confidence. It is the foundation of strong relationships.

  • Everyday Example: Trusting a friend to keep a secret.
  • Religious Example: Prophet Mohammad trusted Allah when he left Mecca for Medina during difficult times.

  1. Importance of These Values
  • Humility creates peace, understanding, and respect among people.
  • Faith gives strength during difficult times and helps believers stay hopeful.
  • Trust helps build strong friendships, families, and communities. It also strengthens one’s relationship with God.
  1. Practical Activities
  • Storytelling Session:
    • Bible story: Abraham trusting God to lead him to a new land (Genesis 12).
    • Qur’anic story: Prophet Mohammad’s trust in Allah during the Hijrah (migration from Mecca to Medina).
  • Group Discussion:
Topic: “What happens when people cannot trust one another?”
Aim: Help learners understand how lack of trust causes fear, confusion, and broken relationships.
  • Pair Activity:
Students work in pairs to create a short list of how they can show humility, faith, and trust at home and in school.

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Act out short skits showing one of the values:
e.g., a child humbly helping a younger sibling, a student praying in faith, or a friend keeping a promise.
  • Share personal examples of times they trusted someone or showed humility and faith.

  1. Assessment Checks

Teacher asks oral or written questions:

  • “What is humility?”
  • “Give one example of faith from the Bible or Qur’an.”
  • “Why is trust important in relationships?”

  1. Notes (Expanded & Detailed)

Living a good life in any faith requires humility, faith, and trust. These values help individuals live in peace with others and stay close to God. Humility allows us to serve and respect others. Faith helps us stay strong when facing challenges. Trust helps us build strong families, friendships, and spiritual lives. These values are taught in both the Bible and the Qur’an and are important for creating peaceful, loving communities.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Humility means not being proud, faith means believing in God, and trust means depending on God and others. These are important for living with others peacefully.

Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip: Write one sentence each on humility, faith, and trust.

Assignment (Expanded):
Write a short paragraph on how you showed humility, faith, or trust this week.

Follow-up Activity:
Students create a “Trust Circle” activity by sharing secrets or promises in groups and practicing honesty.

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Weaker learners are allowed to give oral responses. Stronger learners write detailed notes.
