Lesson Development – ABC Model

  • Quick oral drill: Pupils recall present tense of previously learned verbs.
  • Teacher asks questions like: “Que fais-tu?” / “Connais-tu quelqu’un célèbre?” / “Sais-tu parler français?”

  1. Conjugation of Verbs in Present Tense

Teacher’s Role

  • Writes the three verbs (connaître, savoir, mettre) on the board.
  • Explains that:
    • Connaître = to know/be familiar with someone or something.
    • Savoir = to know a fact, how to do something.
    • Mettre = to put, place, or set.

  • Pupils conjugate the verbs orally in pairs.
  • Teacher calls pupils randomly to conjugate verbs in different persons.
