- Quick oral drill: recall present tense of previously learned travel verbs (aller, venir, prendre).
- Teacher asks: “Qu’est-ce que tu fais pour voyager ?” / “Où loges-tu quand tu voyages ?”

- Introduction of Travel Verbs
- Teacher writes verbs on the board, explains meaning and travel context.
- Verbs:
- partir = to leave/depart
- sortir = to go out
- voyager = to travel
- loger = to stay (at hotel/hostel)
- se promener = to take a walk
Examples in travel sentences:
- Je pars demain pour Abidjan.
- Elle sort du train à la gare.
- Nous voyageons en avion.
- Ils logent dans un petit hôtel.
- Tu te promènes dans le centre-ville.
- Conjugation in Present Tense (with notes)
- Partir: je pars, tu pars, il/elle/on part, nous partons, vous partez, ils/elles partent
- Sortir: je sors, tu sors, il/elle/on sort, nous sortons, vous sortez, ils/elles sortent
- Voyager: je voyage, tu voyages, il/elle/on voyage, nous voyageons (note: -geons spelling change), vous voyagez, ils/elles voyagent
- Loger: je loge, tu loges, il/elle/on loge, nous logeons (note: -geons spelling change), vous logez, ils/elles logent
- Se promener: je me promène, tu te promènes, il/elle/on se promène, nous nous promenons, vous vous promenez, ils/elles se promènent
Teaching tip: highlight irregular forms (partir/sortir) and spelling changes in -ger verbs (voyager/loger).
- Guided Practice – Oral Sentences
Teacher models, pupils repeat and then create new sentences.
Examples:
- Je pars demain. (I leave tomorrow.)
- Nous voyageons en avion. (We travel by plane.)
- Ils logent dans un hôtel. (They are staying in a hotel.)
- Tu te promènes dans le parc. (You take a walk in the park.)
- Elle sort avec ses amis. (She goes out with her friends.)
Pair prompts:
- Où pars-tu demain ? → Je pars à Monrovia.
- Où logez-vous ? → Nous logeons dans un hôtel près de la gare.
- Que fais-tu le soir ? → Je sors avec mes amis.
- Written Practice – Short Paragraphs
Teacher demonstrates with a model paragraph:
- “Demain, je pars pour Monrovia. Nous voyageons en train. Nous logeons dans un hôtel près de la gare. Chaque matin, je me promène dans le parc de la ville.”
Pupils write 3–5 sentences about an imagined or real trip, including at least 3 travel verbs.
