Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)

Activity: The teacher will ask the class:

• “Have you ever seen or participated in an offering in church, mosque, or traditional setting?”

  • Relate worship and offering to daily life and religious practices, showing how they cultivate discipline, gratitude, and moral living.
  • Provide examples across religions:
    • Christianity: Tithes, thanksgiving offerings, worship through hymns, prayers, and volunteer work in church.
    • Islam: Zakat (mandatory charity), Sadaqah (voluntary charity), daily prayers (Salat), fasting during Ramadan.
    • African Traditional Religion: Sacrifices of animals, pouring of libation, songs, drumming, and community service as acts of devotion.
  • Highlight significance: worship and offering bring believers closer to God, strengthen faith, express gratitude, and support community welfare.
