Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–7 minutes
Activity:
- Teacher displays two flashcards with statements:
- Le football est amusant.
- Les devoirs sont faciles.
- Ask pupils: C’est vrai ou c’est faux ?
- Pupils answer using C’est vrai! or C’est faux! and justify briefly.

- Vocabulary Expansion – Polite Expressions (6–7 minutes)
Teacher introduces and writes new polite expressions on the board:
- Je suis d’accord avec toi. → I agree with you.
- Je ne suis pas d’accord. → I disagree.
- Tu as raison. → You are right.
- Tu as tort. → You are wrong.
- Peut-être… → Maybe…
Pronunciation Drill:
- Pupils repeat in chorus 2–3 times.
- Then, individually: teacher points to each pupil to pronounce.
- Teacher corrects errors gently.

- Pupils respond with: Tu as raison. / Tu as tort.
Extra Statements for practice:

Activity 2: Matching Game
Teacher distributes cards (French expressions on one set, English meanings on another). Pupils match pairs:
- Je suis d’accord ↔ I agree.
- Je ne suis pas d’accord ↔ I disagree.
- Tu as raison ↔ You are right.
- Tu as tort ↔ You are wrong.
- Peut-être ↔ Maybe.
- Dialogue Building (Pair Work) (5 minutes)
Pairs construct short dialogues using polite opinion expressions.
Example 1:
- A: Le basket est plus intéressant que le football.
- B: Je ne suis pas d’accord. Le football est meilleur.
Example 2:
- A: Je crois que le poisson est délicieux.
- B: Je suis d’accord avec toi.
Example 3:
- A: La télé est éducative.
- B: Peut-être… mais parfois c’est ennuyeux.
Class Sharing: Two pairs perform their dialogues in front of the class.
- Class Debate – “C’est vrai ou c’est faux ?” (5 minutes)
Teacher reads opinion-based statements aloud. Pupils must quickly respond with an expression of agreement or disagreement.
Sample Statements:
- L’école est ennuyeuse.
- Possible answers: C’est faux! Tu as tort!
- La famille est importante.
- Possible answers: Je suis d’accord! / C’est vrai!
- Le français est difficile.
- Possible answers: Peut-être… / Je ne suis pas d’accord.

- Contextual Role Play – Daily Life Topics (5–6 minutes)
Pupils work in groups of 3–4. Each group receives a scenario to act out, using at least 2–3 opinion expressions.
Scenario 1 (At School):
- A: Je crois que les devoirs sont trop nombreux.
- B: Tu as raison!
- C: Je ne suis pas d’accord. Les devoirs nous aident à apprendre.
Scenario 2 (In the Family):
- A: Je pense que laver les assiettes est facile.
- B: Tu as tort! C’est fatigant.
- C: Peut-être…
Scenario 3 (In Sports):
- A: Le football est le meilleur sport.
- B: Je suis d’accord avec toi.
- C: Je ne suis pas d’accord! Le basket est plus intéressant.

- Oral Drill: Pupils repeat polite opinion expressions several times.

- Exit Task: Pupils write one sentence agreeing and one sentence disagreeing about sports.
