Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–7 minutes
Activity:
• Teacher asks: “Montrez-moi votre livre préféré ou objet. Comment est-il ?”
• Pupils respond orally: “C’est un livre bleu. Il a un gros ventre.”
• Teacher introduces the lesson: using C’est…, Voici…, and Il a… to describe people and objects.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

- Présentatif & Object Description (8 minutes)
Structures to Teach:
- C’est + article indéfini + adjectif + nom → C’est un gros livre.
- Voici… → Voici un sac rouge.
- Il/Elle a + adjectif + nom → Il a un gros ventre.
Teacher Practice:
- Uses classroom objects (book, bag, ball, box).
- Demonstrates orally + writes on board:
- C’est un petit ballon bleu.
- Voici une boîte rouge.
- Elle a une tête ronde.
- Pupils repeat chorally → then individually.
Learners’ Tasks:
- Pupils look around classroom → describe at least 2 objects aloud.
- Pair activity: one pupil holds an object, the other describes it.
- Example:
- Élève A: Voici un stylo.
- Élève B: C’est un petit stylo noir. Il a une pointe fine.
- Color & Shape Adjectives (5–7 minutes)
Target Adjectives:

Setup: Groups of 3–4 describe objects or classmates.
Rules:
- Must use C’est…, Voici…, Il/Elle a…
- Must include 1 color adjective + 1 size/shape adjective
- Speak for 1–2 minutes
Example Group Dialogue:
- Élève 1: Voici un ballon bleu.
- Élève 2: C’est un ballon petit et rond.
- Élève 3: Il a un gros point rouge dessus.
- Élève 4: Voici aussi un sac noir. C’est un sac carré.
Performance:
- Each group presents to class.
