• Respond verbally and participate in warm-up discussion.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Role:
• Review all parts of speech (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections) with clear definitions.
• Provide Liberian-context examples for each part of speech:
 - Nouns: Monrovia, Gbarnga, market, school, Liberian river
 - Pronouns: he, she, they, it
 - Verbs: traveled, prepared, danced, harvested
 - Adjectives: bustling, colorful, green, delicious
 - Adverbs: quickly, carefully, happily, silently
 - Prepositions: in, on, near, behind, under
 - Conjunctions: and, but, because, although
 - Interjections: wow!, alas!, oh!
• Demonstrate sentence construction using multiple parts of speech:
Example: “The bustling market in Monrovia was filled with vendors who sold fresh fruits and vegetables quickly.”
• Model paragraph writing (6–8 sentences) using varied parts of speech.
• Monitor learners’ individual and group practice, providing immediate feedback and correction.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):
• Identify and label parts of speech in provided sentences and short paragraphs.
• Compose sentences using at least four different parts of speech.
Example task: Write a sentence about a Liberian festival using nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
• In pairs, write a 6–8 sentence paragraph describing a Liberian cultural scene, school activity, or local market using a variety of parts of speech.
• Conduct peer review: exchange paragraphs, underline parts of speech, suggest improvements, and correct errors.
• Optional extension: create a short paragraph including all eight parts of speech for extra challenge.

Assessment Checks:
• Observe learners’ ability to correctly identify parts of speech in exercises.
• Review written sentences and paragraphs for accuracy, clarity, variety, and proper usage of parts of speech.
• Oral questioning: ask learners to explain why they chose certain adjectives, adverbs, or conjunctions in sentences.
• Quick written exercise: label the parts of speech in 5–6 given sentences.
• Peer assessment: check for corrected errors and improvements during review.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):
• Using Liberian-context examples helps learners relate content to their environment and daily life.

Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary:
• The teacher will ask students to recall the definitions and functions of each part of speech.
• Discuss examples from learner-composed sentences.

Evaluation Method (Expanded):
